Peter Edney’s Mercedes SL: striking paint finish

Blog from accountant Peter Edney

Following my blog 196 Should you run your business car privately? Or through the company?, in which I suggested my landlord Peter Edney had a healthy interest in cars, Peter has added some additional detail.

Peter Edney blogs: An 11-year-old Mercedes SL V8 needs expansion.

A paint job which is the only one in the country and came from an ‘overhauling’ paint shop in San Francisco. So variable are the colours that on getting a parking ticket (currently under appeal) the warden wrote: colour unknown!

I recently had a new exhaust system fitted. This reduced the baffles in the catalytic converters from 400 to 200 per pod and added twin oval pipes, all in stainless steel. Quite a growl to say the least from that good ol’ 5-litre V8! Peter Edney, accountant, Peter Edney & Co

Editor’s note: Indeed, the SL is lovely. The colour, chameleon-like, ranges from a blue to a deep green lustre. It really is very striking. A bit like the V8 engine note!
