EDF charging points - AlphaElectric
AlphaElectric worked in partnership with EDF to create the charging points

BUSINESS mobility specialist Alphabet has launched a new temporary charging solution to enable customers to explore whether electric vehicles would fit their fleet needs.

Developed and supplied in partnership with EDF Energy, the “charge before you buy” programme allows fleets to lease three charges points for between one to three months.

One of the biggest concerns for fleets when it comes to introducing EVs is charging

The points then provide, Alphabet says, an “at the pump charging experience” while the “free-standing non-invasive pinnacles ensure that there is minimal disruption to the customers property”.

Kit Wisdom, head of corporate mobility at Alphabet comments: “One of the biggest concerns for fleets when it comes to introducing EVs is charging.

“Through our collaborative approach with EDF Energy, we are able to launch the next stage of our AlphaElectric product line-up

“‘Charge before you buy’ is yet another step in the right direction in demonstrating that the use of Electric Vehicles in fleets is credible.”

Mark Constable, senior product manager at EDF Energy, adds: “For a number of years now, EDF Energy has been working closely with the automotive industry to help bring developments in EV charging to the market. We are excited to bring our expertise to Alphabet’s latest initiative.

“Fully or partially-electrified vehicle fleets mean a large decrease in carbon emissions which can have a real impact on a company’s reduction targets.”
