Jaguar XE
The Jaguar XE has laid down the gauntlet to BMW and Mercedes

What’s so special about the XE?

  • Aluminium-intensive monocoque – the first in its class;
  • Dynamic design, classic rear-drive stance;
  • Smallest, lightest, stiffest Jaguar saloon;
  • Most aerodynamic Jaguar ever at Cd 0.26;
  • High-efficiency 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel: 163PS; 75mpg, 99g/km CO2;
  • Supercharged 3.0-litre V6: 340PS; 0-60mph: 4.9s;
  • Intuitive new InControl infotainment system with 8-inch touchscreen;
  • World debut of Jaguar All Surface Progress Control: a revolutionary system that maximises low-speed traction in adverse conditions;
  • Forward facing stereo camera technology enables autonomous emergency braking, lane Sat Nav as standard across the whole XE range;
  • Pricing in UK starts from £26,990 on the road.

IT may be the ‘baby’ of the Jaguar range but the new XE promises to match its German rivals with a sharp set of teeth and claws.

Aimed squarely at the BMW 3-Series and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the rear-drive XE compact sports saloon will pack a mighty punch in the range-topping XE S supercharged 3.0-litre V6 petrol version, using the engine from the sports Jaguar F-TYPE, capable of 0-60mph in just 4.9 seconds.

It is also the only vehicle in its class to use an aluminium monocoque chassis enabling exceptional fuel consumption and emissions figures with the new Jaguar-Land Rover Ingenium diesel engine claiming economy of 75mpg and 99g/km CO2.

Inside cabin offers top-draw materials and finishes plus Jaguar’s new InControl infotainment system takes centre stage with its 8-inch touchscreen allowing fast, intuitive access to all features and iOS and Android smartphone apps.

The XE has some of the most advanced driver assistance systems available including All Surface Progress Control (ASPC), which can electronically gain traction in seconds and is ideal for use on low-grip surfaces, such as snow-covered roads.

Laser projection technology enables the XE’s optional head-up display to generate sharp, high-contrast colour graphics display for vehicle speed and navigation, and easily readable even in direct sunlight.

A forward facing stereo camera is mounted behind the front windscreen to give the XE a 3D view of the road ahead to aid functions including autonomous emergency braking and a lane departure warning system.

As the stiffest, most aerodynamic Jaguar saloon car ever built, the XE is also the first Jaguar to be equipped with electric power steering, tuned to provide exceptional responsiveness and feel but with lower energy consumption than hydraulic systems.
