BMW is launching a new 1-series Coupe.

It joins the 1-series three-door (launched May) and the established five-door model.

There will be three engine derivatives: 120d, 123d and 135i.

The 135i is powered by a twin-turbo petrol engine – a first for the 1-series. Another first is the 123d: the world’s most powerful production four-cylinder diesel engine.

The 120d mixes a 177hp power output with 58.8mpg economy and emissions of just 128g/km.

All models feature BMW’s weight- and fuel-saving EfficientDynamics. These include lightweight parts and fuel-saving techonologies.

The 120d Coupe will be available in ES, SE and M Sport trim; the 123d Coupe in SE and M Sport; and the 135i Coupe as an M Sport with 17-inch alloy wheels.
