Convertible 1-series launched by BMW

BMW will launch a convertible version of its BMW 1-series model.

It will be the only premium convertible in its sector.

The roof is made from fabric and can be opened or closed in 22 seconds.

There will be four petrol engine variants and one diesel: power ranges from 143hp to 306hp.

The cars also feature BMW’s EfficientDynamics for improved performance with lower emissions.

One option includes SunReflective Leather Technology, which reduces the heat of the leather on sunny days.

No on-sale date has yet been confirmed.

The convertible joins the recently announced 1-series Coupe.
