THERE are lots of decisions to make when it comes to leasing your company cars; one of them, of course, is budget. Once you have found a competitive leasing deal with a reputable leasing company, it may be time to ask yourself: is the car actually going to meet your requirements?

For example, it’s all very well putting a car on the road that meets budget requirements but will it actually be fit for its everyday purpose? Will the boot space be big enough, will the fuel consumption be economical, is there enough room inside to carry passengers if needed and what about benefit in kind tax implications for the driver?

Researching and comparing lease cars and vans

You can visit showrooms to have a look at the car and ask the salespeople all about it, which is time consuming and sometimes frustrating. You can browse online for a review but it is often difficult to find an impartial, honest one with details of the vehicle you are looking for.

With this in mind, Director of Car4Leasing, Barry Mainstone, decided to incorporate vehicle reviews and honest articles about actual cars that have been tested by his team on the company website, www.car4leasing.co.uk.

Barry said;

“With our investment in social media and regular updates for our customers who like to engage with us on their preferred platform, it made sense to bring car reviews to our site, too.

“Our reviews are honest: we try and include factors that really matter to SMEs. Interior room, boot space, gadgetry (especially important for drivers on long journeys!) and trim levels are covered.

“We are very keen on promoting eco-friendly vehicles and as such, we have special features on EVs and hybrids, including a two year ‘living with an electric car’ trial, focusing on the Nissan Leaf.

“Our Nissan Leaf piece is an honest account of the pros and cons surrounding running an EV as a main vehicle – it has been very popular with visitors to the site and has helped dispel some of the myths surrounding charging and also worries about range.

“In addition, all of our vehicle listings contain information to help clients calculate miles to the gallon and company car tax; CO2 emissions are clearly displayed alongside the vehicle’s P11D value.”

5 key considerations when choosing your next company car

  • Running costs MPG
  • Benefit in kind tax implications
  • Standard equipment
