A plug-in hybrid differs from a conventional hybrid as the car’s electric powertrain can be replenished by plugging it into the national power grid.

This allows the car to run in pure electric mode for longer periods of time, resulting in a more efficient vehicle and one that is cheaper to run as a company car.
