  • New Stonic is Kia’s first entry into the compact SUV market
  • Five versions based on two trim lines and three powertrains
  • Fuel economy of up to 67.3mpg, with CO2 emissions as low as 109g/km
  • Features a suite of connectivity and electronic driver assistance systems
  • New Kia Stonic priced from £16,295 to £20,495

The brand new Kia Stonic is the latest compact SUV to land in the UK. It seems everyone wants a compact SUV and the Stonic is Kia’s response to the likes of the Renault Captur, Suzuki Vitara, and Audi Q2.

With CO2 emissions from 109g/km – meaning company car tax starts from just 23% – the Stonic could be the ideal choice for your next company car. Here’s why.

The new Kia Stonic is bang on trend

THE B-Segment, or compact SUV market, is Europe’s fastest growing sector with sales expected to hit two million cars per year by 2020. Or to put it another way, a compact SUV is really cool.

Now the new Kia Stonic has arrived in the UK that slice of the market now offers even more choice.

The Stonic is based on the latest Rio supermini and is Kia’s first small SUV, bringing the brand’s unique, multi-award-winning styling to the B-SUV class. The new Stonic is slightly longer than the Rio at just over four metres. It is also 70mm taller and has been raised by 42mm to give it a proper SUV stance.

Key signature design elements such as the ‘tiger-nose’ main front grille, the distinctive  rear pillar and the straight lines and smooth surfaces make it instantly recognisable as a member of the contemporary Kia family.

Choice of economical low emission engines

Powered by three clean and efficient engines from the Rio and Cee’d range, the Stonic is available with either the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine delivering 118bhp, a 98bhp naturally aspirated 1.4-litre petrol engine, or the 108bhp 1.6-litre CRDi turbodiesel from the cee’d range.

Low emissions and comfortable company car tax rates will make the new Kia Stonic an easy choice for many business users.  Emissions from 109g/km and BIK tax rates starting at 23% mean the Stonic offers the low running costs most company car drivers look for.

High spec and lots of choice

In the UK there will be five models in the line-up based on the grade 2 and First Edition trim levels. All versions offer Android and Apple connectivity, while advanced electronic driver assistance systems such as autonomous emergency braking and lane departure warning are standard on the First Edition and options on the grade 2.

Standard features on all models include

  • 17-inch alloy wheels
  • Air conditioning
  • Rear parking sensors
  • Automatic headlight control
  • LED daytime running lights

The new Kia Stonic First Edition models add a smart key entry system and engine start/stop button, automatic air conditioning, LED rear lights, heated front seats and D-shaped steering wheel. The First Edition version also stands out due to its two-tone paintwork and interior colour accents.

Express yourself with the new Kia Stonic

There is also a whole range of bright and cheery colour options to brighten up the dreariest company car park.

Standard paint colour is Sienna Brown, with a black roof on the First Edition while Clear White, Blaze Red, Graphite and Midnight Black are options on grade 2. First Edition versions can also be ordered in Clear White, Blaze Red and Zest Yellow, all with a black roof; Midnight Black with a red roof; Graphite with a lime green roof; and Urban Grey and Satin Silver with an orange roof.

You’ll have no trouble finding it in a busy car park with those colour combinations.

Worry free motoring

In common with all Kia models the new Stonic has a lengthy seven-year/100,000-mile warranty that is as much about Kia’s faith in the reliability and quality of the car as it is about customer peace of mind.

Most company car drivers don’t keep a car anywhere near that long, so unless you plan on covering in excess of 30,000 miles per year you’ll never have to worry about the warranty expiring.

If Kia has that much faith in the new Stonic it may well be worth a look when you next replace your company car.
