The number of in-vehicle apps is expected to reach 269 million by 2018

IN-VEHICLE APPS: chances are you’re probably not using  them in your car as a matter of course these days but all the figures point to that changing in the coming years.

In fact, a recent report said that the number of in-vehicle apps in use is expected to reach 269 million by 2018 – more than five times the amount available in 2013.

Manufacturers are keen to allow you to get the most from the in-vehicle app revolution so there are plenty of systems out there that can get your company car connected.

From city cars to luxury cars, everyone has a solution and we’ve rounded up five of the best below:

mirror, link, citroen, c1, peugeot, 108, Toyota, Aygo
The Mirror Link system is fitted in the Citroen, Peugeot and Toyota

MirrorLink (Peugeot 108, Citroen C1, Toyota Aygo)

Available in a range of new cars but most recently on the Peugeot 108, Citroen C1 and Toyota Aygo city car trio, this system duplicates your phone’s screen on to the car’s central touchscreen.

Using your phone’s data, it allows access to Google Maps and plenty more, such as an app that helps you find a parking space.

Standard on all but the entry-level cars, this tech proves connectivity is available to those on a budget.
