The Ecosport was originally developed for the South African market, but the boom in European sales has seen it launched in Europe

Company Car Review of the Ford EcoSport 1.0 EcoBoost Titanium

What is it?

THE Ford EcoSport (pronounced ‘echo-sport’) is Ford’s smallest SUV, taking the Fiesta as its base where the Kuga takes a Focus.

The car was primarily developed by Ford of South America, but there’s clearly a boom in compact SUVs in Europe so the company wants to take full advantage over here, too.

It’s available with many of the engines from the Fiesta so there’s a 1.5 TDCi, a 1.0-litre EcoBoost and a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol.

All models are front-wheel drive only, while the most popular Titanium spec cars will set you back around £16,000.
