NEW Ford Edge leasing deals start from £311 + VAT for the all-new large SUV from Ford.

The big Ford is available in Zetec, Titanium and Sport trims, although most buyers are heading for the higher specification Edge versions, says Ford. Engine options are limited to diesel in either 180PS (six-speed manual) or 210PS (six-speed auto) outputs. All models are four-wheel drive.

“Our Ford Edge appeals to customers who want one of the premium SUVs but don’t get quite enough space or specification – such as the Audi Q5 – or those in the Hyundai Santa Fe who want similar space but a more competitive price,” said Paul Baynes, Ford marketing manager.

“We see the car appealing very much to small business owners who will probably fund the car privately, either by PCP or personal contract hire. But the opportunity is very much there with SME small fleet.”

Ford personal contract hire leasing deals are from £373 for the Titanium 180PS model and £404 for the Sport 180PS model. A Titanium Sport 180PS costs £439 a month on a three-year/9000 miles a year PCP with £2,000 deposit.

There are optional luxury packs available that boost Edge’s comfort and functionality.

Costing £2,000 and available on Titanium and Sport models, Paul says the packs have been fully ‘residualised’.

Included in the Luxury Pack are:

  • Leather trim
  • Power climate front seats (warm/cool seats)
  • Heated rear seats
  • Panoramic roof

In other words, the packs will still be worth £900 after three years. “With that in mind it costs £25 a month to add the pack on a lease,” added Paul.

Underpinning the monthly Ford Edge leasing deals are strong residual values which help lower the monthly lease cost.

According to residual values experts CAP, the Ford Edge is third strongest on residual values behind Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Discovery Sport.

The new SUV will be available from UK dealers on Ford Edge leasing deals from the summer – Ford has already taken 500 orders for the car.

Ford Edge prices start from:

  • £29,995 – Zetec
  • £32,245 – Titanium
  • £34,495 – Sport

A topline Vignale model will be added at the end of 2016, which is expected to cost an additional £2,500-£3,000 on top of the Sport model.
