FORD has been lifting the lid on many of the technical features that will appear in the new S-MAX people carrier – or sports activity vehicle as the company prefers to put it – which is due to make its debut at next month’s Paris Motor Show.
Among the highlights – Ford Adaptive Steering, which appears here for the first time in a European Ford model, a 1.5-litre EcoBoost petrol engine and upgraded two-litre diesels that promise improved CO2 emissions for lower company car tax, all the while retaining the ability to carry seven occupants.
In fact, Ford says the new S-MAX offers no fewer than 32 different seating and loadspace combinations, thanks in part to so-called “Easy-Fold” second and third row seats which go flat at the push of a button.
