Graeme Grieve is the new managing director of BMW UK and Ireland

GRAEME Grieve is the man chosen to replace Tim Abbott as managing director of BMW UK and Ireland.

Grieve, first joined BMW in 1990 and is currently in charge of the BMW Group importer business, which is based in Munich.

He succeeds Tim Abbott, who has been appointed managing director, BMW Group South Africa.

Speaking today, Ian Robertson, member of the board of management of BMW AG responsible for BMW sales and marketing, said: “Graeme’s breadth of experience across the company has proved to be a great asset in his current position and provides an excellent foundation for his leadership of BMW Group UK.”

Graeme continued, “I am clearly delighted with my new appointment. While the current business environment remains dynamic, our strong brands and outstanding range of cars and motorcycles provides many opportunities.

“My role will be to give clear leadership and direction to the company and to continue our strong partnership with our dealer network to meet the challenges which lie ahead.”

Graeme Grieve takes up his new position 1 October 2014.
