Honda Accord road test report

Honda Accord 2.2i-DTEC EX GT

Honda Accord 2.2i-DTEC EX GT

What is it?

Honda’s all-new Accord model. There’s more aggressive styling and a more upmarket feel to the whole car. The latest engine is also much cleaner in its overall emissions and meets new Euro 5 standards – although one consequence of the Euro5 standard is the impact on CO2, which is very slightly worse. Still, the Honda Accord remains in the 20% tax bracket, so there’s no taxation drawback for business drivers. This is the top-spec model with aggressive sport aero kit.

What’s hot?

  • Good road presence – the GT specification gives it a sporty stance
  • It’s wider than before, which you’ll notice in the extra interior space
  • The steering is accurate, and the ride taut but supple
  • Hugely comfortable seats make long distance work easy
  • Lusty diesel pulls well and provides over 50mpg
  • Easy and smooth to drive in congested traffic
  • High level of interior fit and finish
