Honda Insight: low-cost five-door hybrid hatch

THE entry level Honda Insight SE model costs from £15,490.

It makes the Honda Insight hybrid the most affordable hybrid on the market.

The five-door Honda Insight SE hatchback has CO2 emissions of 101g/km. This puts it in the lowest company car tax band: 10%.

Fuel economy of the Insight is 64.2mpg.

There’s also a good specification: 15-inch alloys; climate control; electric folding door mirrors; front and rear electric windows; steering wheel audio controls; and anti-skid technology (VSA) as standard.

The Honda Insight ES costs £16,790. Above SE grade it includes: 16-inch alloys; auto lights/wipers; cruise; front fog lights; heated front seats; leather steering wheel/gear knob and privacy glass.

The £18,390 Honda Insight ES-T model includes hands-free telephone plus DVD Satellite Navigation in its spec.

“For most drivers, hybrid cars have been viewed as an expensive alternative to petrol and diesel models,” commented Graham Avent, corporate operations manager, Honda.

“The Insight – and its lower price position – will make hybrid technology available to more people, including car buyers who would never have considered a hybrid before.”
