Latest Cayenne S E-Hybrid boasts an impressive 83mpg consumption figure

PORSCHE has updated the Cayenne with a series of styling tweaks and efficiency measures designed to keep its big SUV fresh for a bit longer – but the big news is the arrival of a new plug-in hybrid version, the Cayenne S E-Hybrid, a first among luxury SUVs.

At the front of the Porsche Cayenne, there’s a facelift, with modified front wheel arches and bonnet lines, and “airblades” or fins, designed to direct air into the engine intercoolers.

Some models also get bi-Xenon headlamps as standard too.

At the rear of the Porsche Cayenne, there are modified tail-lights and the number plate recess, boot handle and lights are now said to be integrated more elegantly into the tailgate, which can now be opened automatically as standard.

Inside the Porsche Cayenne, the driver gets a new multi-function sports steering wheel inspired by that on the 918 Spyder, with gear shift paddles as standard.

Porsche says the rear seat has also been made more comfortable, and seat ventilation is now available as an option.

The Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid features a lithium-ion traction battery with an energy capacity of 10.9 kWh, giving an all-electric driving range of up to 36 km.
