Business drivers often encounter traffic and delays, and service stations are an important resource to take a break. Yet the IAM says prices are deterring people from stopping

THE Institute of Advances Motorists (IAM) has called for an end to extortionate motorway service station prices after research showed that basic items can cost four  times as much as on the high street.

IAM chief executive Simon Best told Business Car Manager: “Motorway service areas are supposed to be for drivers to eat, drink and freshen up. It’s very important to have a break every two hours and these costs will put people off stopping. Tired drivers pose a danger to themselves and other road users.”
