Lexus IS300h F Sport
What is it?
The sleek and sharp, new shape Lexus IS 300h hybrid saloon. You’ll find it in a number of forms but this is the top spec F Sport edition.
On paper and in the metal the IS300h doesn’t lack appeal in any form. It’s a compact, hi-tech, rear-drive sports saloon with Lexus build quality and eco-efficient 2.5-litre petrol hybrid drivetrain. The IS300h boasts business-friendly CO2 emissions of just 99g/km.
The F Sport package then adds some style cues from the cult Lexus LFA supercar, along with unique 18-inch alloy wheels and sports-tuned steering and suspension.
Inside, within the extended new IS cabin, there are front sports seats, F Sport steering wheel and digital instrument pack that again mirrors the LFA.
The downside of going for the F Sport is that CO2 emissions nudge up to 109g/km versus the 99g/km of the IS300h SE, the model most obviously suited to the company car sector. Combined economy is also 60.1mpg versus the SE’s 65.7mpg.
So is the F Sport package worth the extra? And, perhaps the biggest question, how does the IS300h stack up versus the German premium competition? Let’s find out…
