Lexus luxury for 10% company car tax

HAVE you ever fancied a Lexus, but perhaps baulked at the company car tax bill?

If so, have a look at this: the new Lexus CT 200h, a hatchback to rival Audi’s A3 and BMW’s 1 Series.

The new Lexus CT 200h uses hybrid power to achieve 96g/km CO2 emissions and 68.9mpg. Translated into financial figures that means company car tax of just 10%, for businesses that purchase there will be 100% writing down allowance, and for any business there will be low running costs.

The Lexus CT 200h hybrid is capable of running on its 1.8-litre petrol engine or electric motor alone, or with both working in combination to provide 134bhp and nearly 70mpg economy.

The electric motor works in tandem with the petrol engine to boost acceleration, or drives the wheels on its own when EV mode – battery power – is selected. In EV mode the CT 200h is emission free and can be driven for up to a mile-and-a-half at speeds up to 28mph.

The new Lexus CT 200h is being shown for the first time at the Paris Show (02 October-17 October) before being available to order for deliveries in 2011. Prices have yet to be announced.
