FROM today, it won’t be VOSA officials regulating MOT tests for you car .

Or checking the weight of your van at the roadside.

Instead it will be the DVSA.

Why so?

There’s been a merger, initiated by Roads Minister Stephen Hammond MP, to create the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) which aims to bring together a range or motoring services.

These include operator licensing, driving tests, goods and passenger vehicle testing and MOT supervision.

The new DVSA is a merger between the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency and the Driving Standards Agency. Its aim is to improve the services to motorists and to reduce costs.
