AUDI has a new head of brand: Andre Konsbruck.
Mr Konsbruck from Luxembourg replaces current brand director Martin Sander.
Mr Sander – who took up his role in January 2012 – moves from his UK post to become senior director of sales Americas based at Audi headquarters in Ingolstadt, Germany.
The 45-year-old Andre Konsbruck, 45, began his Audi career in 1992.
Since 1997 he has specialised in major export markets taking the Ingolstadt based role of executive director for the overseas region.
“The UK already ranks as the fourth largest market worldwide for Audi, and its sales are still rising,” commented Andre Konsbruck on his appointment.
“As the Audi range expands, and our brand image continues to strengthen, I really look forward to continuing the excellent work undertaken by Martin in collaboration with our Audi partners. I want to realise our ambition of premium sector leadership in the UK.”
Audi sold 123,622 cars in the UK last year – a high proportion to the business and company car market – which was a record for the brand.
It looks like Mr Konsbruck could be presiding over another success quite soon: at the 2013 mid-year UK sales stood at 74,000 cars – another record.
Andre Konsbruck takes up his new post on 01 October 2013.
