IT looks like the days of the SEAT Exeo existing as the only saloon in the SEAT range may be numbered if the IBL concept, which we first saw at Frankfurt, turns up at dealers as the new Toledo in the not too distant future.
The Toledo was shown – with much pizzazz – at the Geneva Motor Show. SEAT reckons that, despite its saloon shape, it still offers the practicality and usability of a five-door hatchback. It measures 4.48 metres in length. Think of it as a compact saloon – but with folding rear seats for additional functionality.
But the Toledo was not the only new SEAT on show. And not the only new SEAT arriving in the UK. First to arrive in April is the new Ibiza supermini followed by three-door city car called the Mii. This is SEAT’s version of the VW Up! – sister brand Skoda gets its own version too, called Citigo. A more practical five-door Mii will be in SEAT showrooms in the autumn and then the new Toledo at the end of the year.
The five-door version of the Mii arrives in the autumn and then the new Toledo at the end of the year. According to SEAT managing director Peter Wyhinny, the fully worked production business car version of the Toledo concept will be seen at the Paris show in September.
But there’s more business car news. “With all these new cars in 2012, in 2013 we turn to the Leon which will be a complete family with three models,” added Peter.
