NISSAN has announced prices and specs for the recently-announced second-generation Nissan Qashqai crossover which goes on sale at the beginning of next year. The range starts at £17,595, a modest increase over the entry point for the out-going car, although the latest model is better equipped.

Four familiar trim levels will be available – in ascending order, they are Visia, Acenta, Acenta Premium and Tekna.

The entry-level Visia gets air-con, Hill Start Assist, a five-inch colour in-dash screen, a tyre pressure monitoring system and cruise control.

Acenta models start at £19,145 and are fitted with dual-zone automatic air conditioning, a leather steering wheel and gear knob, 17-inch alloys, front fog lamps, automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers.

Next up, cars with Acenta Premium trim are available from £20,995 and feature a longer list of equipment that includes the NissanConnect infotainment system (including a DAB radio), a rear view camera, parking sensors and a panoramic glass roof. Safety features include Front Collision Avoidance, High Beam Assist and Lane Departure Warning.

The top-of-the range Nissan Qashqai Tekna variant, which starts £23,145, gets 19-inch alloys, roof rails, part-leather seats, a glass roof, heated seats, parking sensors and Intelligent key with engine start button. The Tekna’s NissanConnect system features a larger seven-inch touchscreen display and smartphone connectivity.

The new Nissan Qashqai’s tax-dodging engine range includes two petrols and two diesels which emit between 99 and 132g/km of CO2.
