NEW York is gradually becoming an important debut show for car manufacturers, and not just for cars that have their crosshairs firmly fixed on the US market.

We’ve had a chance to walk around the Jacob Javits Convention Center on 11th Avenue to pick out the key cars from the New York International Auto Show that are destined for the UK shores, whether it’s a business car for successful entrepreneurs – such as the McLaren 570S – or that darling of the small business owner, the all-new Jaguar XF, to low emission company cars such as the updated Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV.

So check out our top 10 from the New York International Auto Show.

With the introduction of the 570S, McLaren now finally has a rival for the mighty Porsche 911. Borrowing styling cues from the 650S and P1, the 570S also uses the same 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 but produces 562bhp – around the same as its closest rivals the Porsche 911 Turbo S and Audi R8 V10 Plus.

At £143,250, the 570S also becomes the most accessible model in McLaren’s product portfolio and is the first model in the brand’s new Sport Series range.
