Small businesses and sole traders can tap into big-company style discounts says vehicle rental broker Nexus

Small businesses and sole traders can tap into big-company style discounts says vehicle rental broker Nexus – thanks to the company’s purchase of FMG Support’s rental management business.

The acquisition broadens the buying ability of Nexus Vehicle Rental, with savings passed directly to customers.

Service will be enhanced and there will be better guarantee of rates and commercial terms for small companies.

“The purchase means we can provide an even better proposition to small businesses,” commented Neil McCrossan, chief executive, Nexus.

“If you’re a small business it’s probably difficult to get a deal. Because we’re a big rental broker, we can provide large company benefits even though you might be a small company.

“No matter how small your business, you get the same levels of discount enjoyed by, say, a blue chip company. Because we buy so much rental we can pass on the benefits.

“And while we’re influential in the market, we’re only a small company ourselves – so service is important to us. We provide the same levels to all our customers. They’re all important.”

McCrossan says part of Nexus’ success is its online
IRIS web application. It creates a real-time daily rental marketplace. This allows end users, rental remarketers and daily rental providers to transact business via a single paperless systems platform.

“I think the other point to make for small businesses is that, despite the current economic climate you can still find the finance. We’re a small business ourselves. Yet we’re still expanding.”

Nexus Vehicle Rental is based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. It is one of the country’s largest independent providers of business car rental.
