Škoda has started production of the new third-generation Fabia Estate model at its recently revamped Mladá Boleslav plant. The new car will be launched in the UK in March 2015.

“The production launch of the new Škoda Fabia Estate is a key element of our comprehensive model campaign,” said Skoda’s Board Member for Production and Logistics, Michael Oeljeklaus. “As the best-selling vehicle in its segment, the Fabia Estate is a pillar of the Škoda growth strategy. With its outstanding features, it has everything to attract new consumer groups for both the model and the brand.”
The new Fabia Estate has a boot capacity of 530 litres, claimed to be the largest in its class, with 1395 litres available when the rear seat is folded down. There’s also MirrorLink technology, which displays smartphone apps such as sat-nav, on the infotainment system screen and a “SmartGate” function that enables data on the vehicle to be displayed and saved on a smartphone via special apps.
The new Fabia Estate uses up to 17% less fuel than the second-generation model, and the most economical version will be the new GreenLine, to be launched in the second half of next year, with an estimated combined fuel consumption of 91.1 MPG combined and CO2 emissions of only 82 g/km.
Škoda has sold more than 1.1 million Fabia Estates since the first-generation model was launched in 2000.
