Leasing is a competitive game – and only the best companies get to the top. This is achieved by focusing on consistency of service levels and competitive pricing – to benefit customers.

Academy Leasing is one such company, having relocated in April – by just 20 metres! – to meet its growing need for space due to expansion and 40 staff members.

Their continued growth and best year on record since its date of incorporation back in 1987 is no surprise to Garry Harrison-Lea, Manager, who told Business Car Manager:

Academy offers both vehicle and asset funding – so customers have the benefit of both vehicle and capital expenditure in one place

Back in July this year, AIM-listed UK finance provider 1pm bought Academy Leasing in a deal worth up to £12m in cash and shares.“Academy Leasing has doubled the number of salespeople within the last 12 months. The vehicle leasing industry is currently enjoying a ‘golden era’, and we wanted to ensure that we have a sufficient quota of experienced and knowledgeable account executives to handle the increased volumes”.

Prior to this, Academy Leasing wrote deals both on its own book – around £16m as of 31 March 2015 – also and broker-on-broker business. As 1pm writes all its business on its own book, the acquisition has enabled Academy to write more of its own business from its own funds, along with raising 1pm’s presence in the UK funding market and allowing both companies to negotiate highly reduced borrowing rates from lenders.

Since then, the company has also been busy negotiating enhanced terms with Infiniti UK, which has led to enhanced discounts, now placing the Q50 at the sharp end of the sector in terms of costs.

Garry continued;

“After months of discussion, we have engaged in a campaign to increase volumes and awareness of the excellent Infiniti Q50 model range. The UK market is huge for premium executive cars, and I’m confident that drivers would love the product, given the information and / or the opportunity to try this prestigious marque”.
