Nissan Juke 1.5 dCi Acenta 5dr
What is it?
MISCHIEVOUS smaller brother 'crossover' vehicle to Nissan's hugely successful Qashqai. Innovative interior and bold exterior styling places it right on MINI Countryman turf and a serious style alternative to cars such as the Fiat 500. Priced from £12,795.
What's hot?
- The first car to really do crossover in this segment
- The looks if you like a 370Z roofline atop pure muscle bound SUV...
- ...with beach buggy elements such as the enormous spotlights
- Hidden rear doors produce a convincing coupe shape
- Gutsy diesel serves up 240Nm of torque at just 1,750rpm
- Combined consumption of 55mpg, company car tax of 18%
- 0-60 in 11.5secs for the diesel dCi
- Lots of car for the money; punches above its weight
What's not?
- Retricted visibility, bulk and height make parking tricky
- You need Acenta trim (add £1,000) to get USB connectivity
- Height robs boot space: just 251 litres despite no spare tyre

Business Car Manager Road Test Rating
Nissan has grabbed a handful of rally car, SUV and sports coupe and forced them into a little hatch deemed 'urbanproof' and aimed at the self-employed in their early 30s. Almost too hip for its own good, the Juke goes on sale in September and Nissan UK already has over a thousand deposits. The turbocharged petrol version (0-60 in 8.0 secs) is also worth a sniff with CO2 of 159g/km. Stay away from the CVT and 4x4 versions though unless you need them. The pick is certainly this torquey dCi unit with combined CO2 of 134g/km. We reckon this UK-made car is tremendous value next to any MINI, unless handling is your preoccupation. Nissan has got another major hit on its hands.
