Nissan Qashqai+2: more is better

Nissan Qashqai+2 2.0 dCi Visia 4x2
What is it?
Essentially Nissan’s hot-selling urban SUV Qashqai – plus a bit more. The long-wheelbase Nissan Qashqai means it now has three rows of seats to accommodate seven. Think of it as a Vauxhall Zafira rival with the attitude of a 4x4. And yes you can get an all-wheel drive version – a 2.0 only – but the vast majority of Qashqai+2 models will be front-wheel drive only. It makes for better fuel economy.
What's hot?
- Drives even better than standard Qashqai: ride and handling first rate
- Makes for a roomier five-seater with extra versatility of sliding rear seats
- Fold-flat seating layout and usefully bigger boot
- The £1600 +2 premium also brings panoramic glass roof…
- …along with anti-skid ESP, privacy glass and roof rails
- Quality cabin
What's not?
- No way you’ll get adults in the back
- Even kids will have difficulty clambering in
- 2.0 diesel very torquey but a bit rough sounding
- Diesel auto is very sluggish off the mark
- Satnav with reversing camera a £1400 option even on top model

Business Car Manager Road Test Rating
A roomier, more practical Nissan Qashqai for five people, but not a genuine seven-seat MPV that Nissan would have you believe. The good news is the rear-most kids’ chairs don’t get in the way when not needed. And the +2 drives with even more poise than the original Qashqai. A compromised but quality package.
