PORSCHE has unveiled the sporty new GTS version of the Cayenne at the Los Angeles Motor Show.
The Porsche Cayenne GTS is powered by a bi-turbo 3.6-litre V6, an uprated version of the engine already seen in the Cayenne S.
Power is up 20 PS to 440 PS for the Porsche Cayenne GTS, while torque is up 85 Nm to 600 Nm – good enough for acceleration from rest to 62 mph in 5.2 seconds, and a top speed of 162 mph.
The Porsche Cayenne GTS uses the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) set-up and sits a little lower than other Cayennes; the braking system comes from the Cayenne Turbo. The GTS’ nose section is also borrowed from the Turbo. Inside, there are special GTS seats in leather and Alcantara.
As well as the Cayenne GTS, Porsche has also announced a new 3.6-litre V6 entry-level petrol version of the Cayenne.
Power is 300 PS, which means 0-62 mph in 7.7 seconds and a top speed of 143 mph.
Features such as coasting and stop/start mean improved fuel consumption and reduced CO2 emissions of 215g/km.
When the new models arrive in the UK, the entry-level Cayenne will sell for £49,576 and the GTS for £72,523.
