  • 58% of Brits waste up to an hour a day;
  • 56% choose their clothes the night before to save time at the start of their day;
  • 40% of respondents prepare lunch the night before; 33% skip breakfast;
  • If they were given extra an hour in the day, 28% would read a book and 21% would tidy the house.

MOST drivers believe they are being robbed of an hour a day by the twin time bandits of road works and traffic congestion.

Research from car hire specialists, Europcar, reveals that traffic, road works and delays on public transport are the three things that Brits hate most for wasting their time.

The findings showed that other lost minutes and hours in the day are blamed on slow internet connections and resetting passwords.

When asked what they do to save time on a daily basis, three quarters admitted to at least one time-saving habit for the start of the day with 56% choosing clothes the night before and 33% skipping breakfast, despite the fact that it’s seen as the most important meal of the day.

If they were given back an extra hour in the day, one-in-five would spend it in bed with 18% using the time to exercise. Surprisingly 21% would spend the ‘gift’ hour tidying their homes.

Europcar says it new ToMyCar keyless access to hire vehicles service can pinch back a few of those precious lost minutes.
