SEAT Leon ST Cupra review
What is it?
THE most powerful and practical version of SEAT’s Leon Cupra. This new ST version offers a whopping 55 per cent more boot space than the standard hatch and all of the same grin-enduring thrills.
Only available with the most powerful 276bhp 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo engine – the three door Cupra is available with a 261bhp version of the same engine – the estate car ST asks only a £995 premium over the equivalent five-door hatch.
Best of all, despite the added practicality, the ST Cupra remains as agile, efficient and responsive as its hatchback stablemates. The larger rear end has added 270mm in length but only 45kg in weight, so it’s only really noticeable on return journeys from Swedish flat pack furniture stores.
Being a top spec Cupra model the Leon ST is packed with standard kit:
- dual zone air con,
- 18-inch alloys wheels,
- cruise control,
- heated seats and
- sat nav all come as standard fit.
A slick six-speed DSG gearbox can also be specced in favour of the standard manual transmission too, for a £1,355 premium.
