Smart fortwo cityflame coupe 71 bhp
What is it?
An upscale, limited edition version of the tiny Smart fortwo city car of which only 200 have been earmarked for the UK.
Sporting vibrant pearlescent flame yellow body panels and a black tridion safety cell ‘stripe’, this punchy Smart cityflame is clearly not a car for the shy and retiring.
Indeed, Mercedes bills it as a ‘real head turner…and certain to add a huge splash of colour to the life of its owners.’
Along with the yellow war paint, a pair of Brabus-style headlights and exclusive black alloy wheel package also arrive to have it stand well clear of the crowd.
Fittings and furniture inside are a bit special, too. A trick set of black leather-look seats with flame yellow inlays and stitching immediately grab the eye.
Air conditioning is standard issue, so is a panoramic roof (on the coupe, tested here: there’s also a soft top cabrio).
Power comes from a rear-mounted 1.0-litre petrol engine driving the back wheels. Either normally-aspirated with 71 bhp, as here, or there’s a pricier 84bhp turbo.
For the business user, perhaps an SME buying privately or business buyer using a lease contract, the cityflame model to go for is this atmo 71bhp edition with CO2 emissions of just 98g/km (so £0 VED) and 65.7mpg combined official economy.
Let’s see how it drives…
