ŠKODA has turned the Yeti into something a bit more jazzy – but don’t get too excited just yet because it’s only a concept at the moment.
The ŠKODA Yeti Xtreme is the work of the company’s apprentices who have produced it for the annual Worthersee GTI festival for souped-up Volkswagen group cars.

The Yeti Xtreme is powered by a 1.8-litre TSI turbo petrol engine paired with a six-speed DSG gearbox. It can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h (62 mph) in 9 seconds. Stopping shouldn’t be too much of a problem, though, thanks to the Yeti Xtreme’s special Octavia RS brakes.
The Yeti gets matt grey 17-inch alloy wheels, tinted side windows, and roof and wheel rim inserts set off in bright yellow-green.
At the front, there’s a large air intake, along with LED headlights. Inside there’s a motor-sport theme with four individual Recaro sports seats with integrated four-point safety belts and a ‘Super Sport’ steering wheel with integrated gearshift paddles.
The inner door panels have been made entirely from carbon fibre, and a sand shovel and a thermos flask have been integrated into holders fitted in the panelling.
Werner Eichhorn, ŠKODA’s head of sales and marketing, says “We want to continue the positive development and to grow further with new models over the coming years, therefore we are going to strengthen the emotional vibrancy of the brand.
“ŠKODA Yeti Xtreme – as a dynamic and powerful compact SUV concept – demonstrates the brand’s strong expertise in four-wheel drive technology, as well as our know-how when it comes to rally sports.”
Also at Worthersee – the ŠKODA CitiJet city-cabriolet design concept, which bears more than a passing resemblance to Renault’s now discontinued Wind.
