Found this previous version of the Honda CR-V sitting outside the Business Car Manager offices.
I always rather liked the Mk2’s square cut practicality (there was even an optional shower fitment which could be used at the back of the car!).
But seeing the two models side by side shows you how far the CR-V has moved on. It’s now much more executive car in appearance: the coupe-like rear window neatly conceals its height, while emphasising a more sporting aspect.
The bonnet itself is notable for the black grille area, which again visually reduces the car’s height (see lower picture in Entry 1, below).
Apart from these obvious visual differences, the real change is the way the new car drives: just like an executive car in fact. There’s none of that leaning over as you go round a corner.
Instead, the new CR-V whips through, flat as you like.
