LOOK what turned up in our road.

This dramatic red Audi R8 caused a stir when it appeared outside a neighbour’s house. Not least when the fabulous V8 fired up.

Bob is the neighbour in question. He works for BOC, and among his responsibilities for BOC is looking after manufacturer relationships for the firm’s company car scheme. Nice job.

Bob normally drives a BMW 520d Touring company car. But often it’s replaced by a test model – usually from a German car manufacturer. But none so glamorous as this Audi R8.

I asked Bob if he was enjoying the car…there was no need really. But on the wider subject of less exulted company cars, Bob remains a committed fan of BMWs. “I prefer the drive to go the rear wheels…”

Well, at least with the R8 it’s one Audi that Bob likes! Audi R8 turns up in my home road
