The Lex Autolease accident figures

  • Company drivers were at fault for 49 per cent of the 44,448 accidents
  • Almost a quarter of all accidents (24 per cent) were caused by company drivers colliding with a third party
  • More than 3,000 drivers crashed into the back of a third party vehicle and over 2,000 hit a third party whilst reversing.

Yeah, you’re familiar. The actual cost to your bottom line is £26m in excess insurance payments as a result of these driving accidents.

The UK’s largest leasing company Lex Autolease reckons that company car drivers were at fault for almost half of all driving accidents involving a company vehicle last year. And the company wants businesses to raise staff driving standards.
