485 – My dad’s new Panda

Share

23 August 2010

MY old man came over at the weekend with my mum and proudly showed me his new car: a Fiat Panda Eleganza.

This is my dad’s second Panda – and while the colour is identical, he’s moved up a trim. Eleganza now adds all sorts of niceties such as roof rails, remote central locking, air conditioning, and alloy wheels.

The overall effect is to give his Panda a much sharper definition – the roof rails really help.

He is really pleased with it – and quite right too. He traded in his old Panda for this nearly new version at a cost he could afford.

He’s only had one ‘problem’ with the car. Noticing a puddle appearing under the car, my dad initially thought the car had sprung a leak…before realising it was simply water dripping from the air conditioning condenser.

Not having experienced a car with air con before it’s an easy conclusion to make.

“HonestJohn swears by these in the Telegraph motoring section,” my dad explained (HonestJohn is followed avidly by my father). “They are very good to drive, spacious and so light and airy inside.”

Another satisfied Fiat driver – like my wife with her Fiat 500.
