Editor’s Blog with Simon Rosenthal from Saab City
FULLY back from holiday now – well, physically I have been for many days, but now my headset is in the same place too! So time to start blogging again.
And one of the first jobs back from holiday was to take part as a judge in the Professional Driver Car of the Year awards – judging those vehicles which make the best private hire, chauffeur and executive hire cars.
It’s always a good day driving plenty of varied cars back to back. But also to meet Simon Rosenthal from Saab City. Simon had brought along a Saab 9-5 for evaluation.
Despite the hiatus in production at Saab’s Trollhattan plant due to financing issues, Simon reports there has been brisk business from SMEs for Saab contract hire.
“We’re doing plenty of single contract hire deals with small businesses, as well as plenty of personal contract hire deals,” Simon told me.
This rise in personal contract hire (PCH) reflects a wide increase in the appeal of personal leasing cars – we’ve written about it before here: Personal car finance increases in popularity.
This is Simon’s take: “People realise that contract hire is risk free. There’s no risk on the car’s value. I think mortgages where you can fix a rate have helped people understand the concept of paying a fixed monthly charge for something too. It’s easy to budget for, as well.”
Simon has some competitive Saab City contract hire deals going through that are worth a look if you fancy a Saab:
