Two new low-emission petrol engines make the new Honda Jazz very tax-efficient.

The new 99bhp 1.4-litre petrol has emissions as low as 123g/km. Economy is 54.3mpg in manual guise.

An optional six-speed automated manual transmission drops the 1.4’s CO2 emissions to 120g/km.

Manual versions feature a gearshift light to indicate the most fuel-efficient change-up point.

The all-new Jazz is roomier than before. Honda expects it to appeal to drivers looking to downsize.

Practicality is even greater than in the outgoing Jazz. The rear seats now drop down in a single action for easier folding.

The boot to be configured in four ways to accommodate different load sizes with a new “Double Trunk” feature.

Total luggage space in 1.4 models with Double Trunk is 399 litres. That’s the best in its class.

Standard-fit safety features include: dual front airbags; side airbags: full-length curtain airbags; five three-point seatbelts; anti-whiplash front head restraints.

Prices and full specifications will be announced closer to the launch.
