Hot on the heals of the new Renault Twingo city car comes the Peugeot 108 – complete with optional soft-top and with CO2 emissions as low as 88g/km

PEUGEOT has announced an all-new city car, the Peugeot 108.

Among the highlights are an optional retractable fabric roof, a choice of three and five door hatchback bodies, a range of three-cylinder engines, and a weight of as little as 840kg. Also promised: a wide selection of personalisation options.

There are four engine/drivetrain options, all based on low-CO2 three-cylinder petrol power units with emissions below 100g/km.

Three use a 68bhp 1.0-litre with 88g/km (5-speed manual and Stop & Start), 95g/km (standard 5-speed manual), 97g/km (electronic five-speed transmission) while the most powerful has a 1.2-litre engine paired with a 5-speed manual producing 82bhp and 99g/km.

When it comes to the interiors, Peugeot has tried to emulate the feel of a more expensive car.
