HANDS up if you drive an Audi.
Oooerr, that’ll be me then.
Apparently, if you drive an Audi, you might drive a very nice car. But you can’t park.
Now before both you and I fling our hands up in horror, we’re not alone.
Close behind Audi drivers come Mercedes drivers and Mazda drivers. Best performing brand for parking less badly (can I say that?) was Land Rover.
Almost one in four Audi car drivers (24%) were parked badly, compared to Mercedes (16.6%) and Mazda (14.3%).
The bad parking league table was compiled by airpoirt meet and greet firm www.StressFreeAirportParking.com.
The company analysed 8,000 cars in various city centre and out-of-town shopping centre car parks during February to compile the parking hall of shame.
And when it comes to what type of car, it’s not the big wagons and saloons that are worst.
No, it’s the tiddlers. The small cars.
“Many will be surprised to see drivers of small family cars as the worst offenders when it comes to breaching the parking bay white lines, yet van drivers – second worst culprits – will probably confirm many people’s stereotypes,” commented Martin Mansell, managing director of the online parking firm.
Martin said that with parking spaces at a premium in most city centres, careless parking – such as straddling two bays – was a source of intense frustration.
So come on me and all you other Audi drivers. Sharpen up our/your act! Get parking properly.
