Ralph Morton, the founder and editorial director of Business Car Manager, has decided to leave Business Car Manager Ltd (January 07, 2019) to pursue other interests.

Founded in August 2006, Business Car Manager was launched in online only format, and focused entirely on the SME business motoring sector – elements which have come to define the market today.

Since then, the online brand has changed its name to Business Motoring, and added to its media stable with the launch of Business Vans, Industry Intelligence (a microsite in Business Motoring), Leasing Broker News, the Leasing Broker Federation with its successful conference and awards, and the recent acquisition of Motor Trade News.

Business Car Manager Ltd will continue to be run by Publishing Director Nick Ratcliffe, who joined the company as a director in October 2011. Experienced automotive journalist Chris Wright steps up from editorship of Motor Trade News to take on the role of Managing Editor across the four online titles.

“It’s been a gas,” said Ralph. “I’ve had a great time establishing a new brand in the market that wasn’t fleet, but concentrated on the hitherto forgotten SME sector, which has since gone on to become the focus of the automotive industry.

“As well as this, getting recognition for leasing brokers, and the way they serve the SME sector so professionally, have been absolute highlights.

“I now have some personal projects I wish to pursue. To that end I have relinquished my interests in the business to Nick Ratcliffe, and I wish Nick and the team all the very best as they take the company on to the next stage in its successful evolution.”

Nick Ratcliffe added:

I’d like to thank Ralph for his enormous contribution to the group’s titles and his expertise in the sector. We are committed to maintaining the same high journalistic standards our readers have come to expect across our suite of publications.”

“I would like to pass my thanks and best wishes onto Ralph as he embarks on his new adventures and welcome Chris into the role of Group Editor whom I’m sure will continue to maintain the professional standards that have been built up over the previous 12 years within the Business Car Manager brands”

The next stage in the evolution of Business Car Manager will be the Business Motoring Awards and Business Van Awards to be held on March 26, 2019. Entries for these events close on February 01, 2019.
