COMPANY car sales of the Vauxhall Insignia were up over 50 per cent in the second half of 2013 – building on an impressive year for overall Vauxhall sales which were up by 11.7% on 2012.
Following the launch of a facelifted Vauxhall Insignia in September 2013, sales saw a huge jump thanks to universal plaudits from both customers and the press. The refreshed design breathed new life into the executive hatchback, while new engines made the Insignia cheaper to run and kinder to the environment than ever before.
The Vauxhall Insignia 2.0-litre CDTi 120 ecoFLEX diesel will now do 76mpg and emit just 98g/km of CO2 thanks to its range of new fuel-saving measures. That means in the 2014/2015 tax year, you’ll pay as little as £561 as a lower rate tax payer, or £1122 at the higher rate.
The improvements have culminated in the Vauxhall Insignia being named the Business Car Manager SME Company Car of the Year for 2014.

Commenting on the news, British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA) Chief Exec, Gerry Keaney, said: “Fleet and business sales were responsible for more than 50% of new car registrations, which demonstrates the vital role road transport plays in driving the UK economy.”
By the end of November, new car registrations had already surpassed the year-end total for 2012, with a month left to play. By the end of the year, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) had calculated that on average, 600 extra cars we registered every day in 2013 – a massive jump, and a positive one for the British automotive industry.
