The car is currently owned by the BBC and has been restored by Audi UK.

It’s a 1983 model with the quattro’s traditional five-cylinder turbocharged engine and it’s been signed under the bonnet by Phil Glenister who played DCI Hunt in the TV series.

Bids for the car can be made via the BBC Children in Need eBay shop; the auction ends on Sunday November 16 at 2100hrs.
