BCA Belle Vue Manchester set a new record on 5 July, by selling over 400 light commercials in one day for the first time.
The Commercial Vehicle team at Belle Vue achieved the new high point just weeks ahead of the completion of the LCV remarketing centre on a 6.5 acre site adjacent to the existing 32-acre auction facility.
With stock entered by a range of blue chip brand names from the fleet, lease, rental, finance, local authority and dealer sectors, there was competitive bidding both in-lane and via BCA Live Online.
BCA’s LCV operations director Duncan Ward commented: “This is a significant result that underlines that whatever the market conditions, BCA generates the buying power to successfully remarket huge numbers of vehicles, swiftly and efficiently.”
Ward added “The market for LCVs has seen some pressure in recent weeks, with volumes remaining high and an element of cherry-picking from buyers.
“This has led to the development of a two-tier market where the best presented and specified vans outperform the market by some margin, while older, less attractive stock can struggle to attract buyers. The Commercial Team at Belle Vue should be congratulated for consistently achieving strong sales results across a wide range of stock in a fast-changing marketplace.”
BCA’s new auction centre in Manchester will open for business in late 2017. It features open plan auction lanes with undercover viewing for 400 vehicles and Live Online support.
