VOLKSWAGEN Amarok, our Pick-Up of the Year for the last two years running, is going to get even better, with the announcement of facelifted new Amarok models that go on sale later this year, ready to take the fight to other rivals due in 2016 and for a slice of the leisure user market.

You’ll spot facelift versions of the new Amarok by their new front lights and front air dam with larger cooling grille. The extra grille is probably the result of fitting the new 3.0-litre V6 TDI engines, available in 163PS, 204PS and 224PS versions and all EU6 compliant.

Standard 4Motion four-wheel drive and 8-speed transmission means the facelift Amarok is a capable off-roader. Yet, it still offers a spacious load area and towing capacity up to 3.5 tonnes making it attractive both as a rugged workhorse and as a company car with leisure use attraction buoyed by the double cab’s low benefit-in-kind rating.

Inside, the Amarok retains its position in the sector as a premium pick-up with new features including 14-way ergo comfort seats, enhanced infotainment systems, climatronic climate control, a new steering wheel with paddles and 20-inch wheels.

Safety is also improved with multi-collision braking, ASR, ESP/ABS, park pilot and rear camera, window regulators with anti-trap protection, all available.

We will bring you more on the facelifted Amarok range as soon as we have it.
