What is it?

BMW’s 3 Series saloon gets the ultimate emission reducing EfficientDynamics treatment with dramatic results. It’s the first premium saloon to qualify for a full first year writing down allowance against taxable profits. And for company car drivers, there’s the appeal of a 13% company car tax banding. Priced at £26,480 – the same as the standard BMW 320d SE model.

Here’s our BMW 320d EfficientDynamics review.

What’s hot?

  • Those CO2 emissions: just 109g/km of them
  • And the amazing fuel economy: 68.9mpg
  • Reduced company car tax burden: just 13%
  • Benefits from 100% first year writing down allowance
  • Also benefits from the usual BMW virtues of being a great drive
  • Michelin EnergySaving tyres add to improved ride quality
  • And there’s plenty of low-down response from revised engine
  • Comfortable and supportive sports seats (£430 option)
  • Accurate and precise steering
  • Unobtrusive stop-start system
  • Did we mention the stunning economy and CO2 emissions?

What’s not?

  • Vibration on start up through gear lever
  • Engine gets noisy towards the top end
  • Limited boot space
  • It’s not cheap – and budget £3k for those key options
