The Mondeo Hybrid brings together the spacious, practical and refined nature of the Ford Mondeo with the tax benefits and fuel savings of a hybrid powertrain. Using a 2.0-litre petrol engine for longer journeys to banish thoughts of range anxiety, the car switches to pure electric power on shorter and slower routes to reduce emissions and keep energy use to a minimum.

Regenerative braking captures up to 90% of the energy normally lost through the brakes, to self-charge the battery and extend the electric range as far as possible. Even once the battery has been drained, the petrol engine will take over, with the on-board computers working to calculate what power source to use when depending on your own driving pattern and style.

Ford Mondeo Titanium HYBRID Electric VehicleIt packages this all into an attractive four-door saloon body shell, offering extra security for your belongings in the boot, without impacting the engaging and dynamic handling capabilities that the Mondeo is renowned for. As with the rest of the Mondeo range, equipment levels are also high, with the Hybrid available in high-spec Titanium or super-luxurious Vignale versions.

Running a vehicle for business?

Don't leave yourself out of pocket - a guide to what you can claim.

The trim differences make the Vignale model stand out, but nobody will know you’re in a hybrid unless they take a look inside. The exterior still has that power-dome bonnet, and laser-cut headlamps, along with the bold grille, but only three discrete badges suggest what’s under the bonnet. Inside it’s still mostly Mondeo, which means there’s acres of space and plenty of toys to play with, but the instrument panel has been changed to show an energy meter as well as other ecocentric displays.

It’s all the best parts of the Mondeo with a refined, energy-saving, eco-friendly powertrain under the bonnet, offering 58.9 combined mpg and company car friendly CO2 emissions of 108g/km – with no BIK diesel penalty.
