Facilities management business ECG says the e-fleet app is hugely beneficial in the management of its 150 cars

KEEPING an accurate log of business mileage is an essential part of working life, and one that many company car drivers struggle to keep on top of.

In an effort to make life easier, Glasgow-based fleet solutions provider, Fleet Alliance, has developed a smartphone app to allow drivers to record the mileage and condition of their vehicles remotely, away from their PC.

Facilities management specialist, ECG, has voted the introduction of Fleet Alliance’s new e-fleet mobile app as “hugely beneficial” to the running of its fleet – which provides building services maintenance, repair and refurbishment to commercial and industrial sectors all over the UK.

It runs a fleet of around 150 cars, with a mixture of contract hire and company-owned vehicles.

The new app is available across iPhone, Android and Blackberry smartphones and integrates seamlessly with Fleet Alliance’s online fleet management system.

The app uses the car or van’s registration details to provide drivers will main contact numbers and access points – covering a number of key areas including tyres, windscreens and servicing, as well as maintenance, breakdown and recovery.

Company car drivers are also given the ability to record things such as fluid levels, tyre tread depths, broken lights and cracked windscreens.

This helps both the driver and their business car manager ensure that each individual car is properly looked after and fit for use.
